
Announcing the ChessMood 20/20 Grand Prix
A $20,000 prize event open to all Lichess streamers’ teamsLichess and ChessMood are pleased to announce the ChessMood 20/20 Grand Prix, held on a monthly basis on the 20th day of each month, with each event starting at 20:00 UTC, from February 20th to December 20th, 2025.
The event is open to all teams of Lichess streamers, with a prize fund of $1,000 for each qualifying arena, and $10,000 for the Final Tournament, with $2,500 for the overall winner, offered by ChessMood! Please note that the prizes will be paid to the streamers, and not for individual performances.
From February 20th to November 20th, teams can participate in the Grand Prix qualifying phase, consisting of 10 qualifying events (team battles), collecting Grand Prix points (as described below). The top 10 teams as determined by the Grand Prix points, will qualify for the Final Tournament. However, do not worry if you cannot play all 10 arenas or have a bad performance, as only the top 7 performances of each team will count!
Prize fund
ChessMood has contributed a total of $20,000 prize fund for the Grand Prix; $1,000 for each of the 10 qualifying arenas, and $10,000, distributed as following, to the winning streamers:
Qualifying arenas:
- 1st Place: $500
- 2nd Place: $250
- 3rd Place: $125
- 4th Place: $75
- 5th Place: $50
Final Tournament:
- 1st Place – $2,500
- 2nd Place – $1,800
- 3rd Place – $1,500
- 4th Place – $1,200
- 5th Place – $1,000
- 6th Place – $700
- 7th Place – $500
- 8th Place – $350
- 9th Place – $250
- 10th Place – $200
Additionally, each participating streamer will receive 10 ChessMood one month memberships to hand out to members of their team. Participating streamers can claim it by contacting @Shahinyan_ChessMood.
Schedule and regulations
The event will be held on a monthly basis, as a team battle with 20 leaders, on 20th of each month, as following:
- Qualifier 1: February 20, 20:00 (UTC), 3+0
- Qualifier 2: March 20, 20:00 (UTC), 3+2
- Qualifier 3: April 20, 20:00 (UTC), 5+0
- Qualifier 4: May 20, 20:00 (UTC), 3+0
- Qualifier 5: June 20, 20:00 (UTC), 3+2
- Qualifier 6: July 20, 20:00 (UTC), 5+0
- Qualifier 7: August 20, 20:00 (UTC), 3+0
- Qualifier 8: September 20, 20:00 (UTC), 3+2
- Qualifier 9: October 20, 20:00 (UTC), 5+0
- Qualifier 10: November 20, 20:00 (UTC), 3+0
For the Grand Prix system, the teams, depending on their ranking, are collecting points as following:
- 1st Place: 25 points
- 2nd Place: 18 points
- 3rd Place: 15 points
- 4th Place: 12 points
- 5th Place: 10 points
- 6th Place: 8 points
- 7th Place: 6 points
- 8th Place: 4 points
- 9th Place: 2 points
- 10th Place: 1 point
Taking into account the top 7 performances of each streamer team, the top 10 will qualify for the Final Tournament, on December 20, 20:00 (UTC), with a time control of 3+2. In case of a tie for 10th place based on the Grand Prix points, all tied teams will qualify.
In order to qualify for a prize or for Grand Prix points, the streamers are required to stream the whole tournament. You can find the full regulations here.

For participation inquiries, email events@lichess.org with "ChessMood 20/20 Cup" in the subject line, no later than 48 hours prior to the qualifying arena.
As all streamers are expected to display the Lichess and ChessMood logos in their stream, you can download the Lichess logo in different formats from our Streamers Kit and the ChessMood logo from here.
